If you are interested in business development, you are in the right place. My name is Adam and I live in Brisbane, Australia. Although I don't own a business, I am very interested in how businesses operate and the steps they can take to improve their performance. I love the fact that by making a few changes to a business, the owner can drastically increase their profits. I have spent the last 8 months learning all I can about business development. I have visited several different types of small business in my local area and spoken with the staff in order to gain a deeper insight.

Two Tips for Businesses That Want to Give Promotional Fridge Magnets to Their Customers

Giving promotional gifts to customers is a simple, cost-effective way in which to popularise your brand. If you have decided that branded fridge magnets would be the most suitable promotional gift to hand out to your customers, here are a few key points that you should bear in mind when getting them made.

Order them from a manufacturer who uses rare earth magnets

When picking a manufacturer to order these items from, you should find one that uses rare earth magnets; these are high-strength magnets whose magnetism far exceeds that of standard magnets. Opting for these ones will mean that the fridge magnets you give your customers will not slide down or fall off their fridges. This is crucial as, if a customer has to readjust or pick up their fridge magnets from the floor every day because they are not strong enough to stay in the spots they originally placed them, then that customer will eventually get frustrated, remove those magnets from their fridge, and either throw them in their junk drawer or into the bin. If this happens, then these fridge magnets will no longer serve as the promotional tools for your business that you intended for them to be.

Additionally, if you use rare earth magnets for your fridge magnets, and the customers who receive them use these magnets to stick valuable items to their fridge (such as an important piece of paperwork or their child's artwork), there won't be any danger of the magnets sliding off the fridge and causing these possessions to be torn or accidentally stomped on. This is crucial, as frustrating incidents like this could leave a customer with no desire whatsoever to help you promote your company by using your branded gifts.

Pick magnet designs that are related to your brand but which are not obnoxiously promotional

Even though the point of having promotional products made is to advertise your brand, it is still important to make sure that the magnet designs you pick are not obnoxiously promotional but are instead visual allusions to your brand. For example, if you run a bakery that is famed for its gourmet cupcakes, you could have cupcake-shaped fridge magnets that feature your company's initials made rather than simply ordering magnets that have your brand name printed in big, bold lettering on them.

The main reason why it's best to opt for understated promotional designs is that the chances of your customers actually liking the appearance of them (and therefore displaying them prominently in their homes or workplaces) will be higher if the magnets have a fun and attractive design instead of simply being covered in overt and uncreative branding. This, in turn, will mean these items will be seen by more people.
